My name is Mark Warman. I am a digital transformation and user experience consultant. With a background in design, technology, marketing and strategy, I help businesses adapt to the changing needs and expectations of their digital audiences. From my base in Bahrain, I work with organisations throughout the region, helping them to use the web, social media and mobile to engage users.
I founded East Innovations in 2007. Profitable from our first year, we quickly established a reputation as a digital marketing agency that created results.
Working with larger organisations and government entities, we partnered with automotive agencies including Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen, publicly listed companies such as Bahrain International Golf Course Company, BMMI and ASRY alongside government bodies including Bahrain’s Economic Development Board and the Ministry of Culture.
With a strong belief that better relationships lead to better results, the great majority of our work came through on going or repeat business. Working with Porsche Centre Bahrain for more than 4 years, we established their digital marketing strategy across social, email and a tailored CRM system. Rolling out continual engagement campaigns, we grew their Facebook community from nothing to nearly 80k. It's currently the largest and most engaged luxury automotive brand in the country and the Bahrain Facebook page is now highlighted within Porsche's global brand guidelines.
I successfully established partnerships with agencies in South America, the Ukraine and the UK to deliver exceptional results. One stand out campaign was the website project for Dreamland Golf Club in Azerbaijan. An 18 hole, Montgomerie designed and IMG managed course, Dreamland is Azerbaijan’s first 5 star luxury Golf Course. Having won an International Property Award for our work with Bahrain’s Royal Golf Club, we were contracted to design and develop Dreamland’s website and roll out their email marketing.
To ensure the end result reflected the quality and standard of the development itself, I created a team of remote experts. Design direction was shared between Bahrain and Costa Rica, development was completed in the Ukraine, whilst content strategy, population and translation was shared between Bahrain and the client’s local agency in Azerbaijan. The website went on to win the 2016 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development - Best Leisure Website.
I’m proud of the relationships that I created, the work that we completed and the team that I developed. Employee engagement and development was a key focus of mine. Finding people with a positive nature and culture fit first and foremost, I created opportunities for formal and on the job training, establishing an on going process of review. A large degree of the company's success can be attributed to this team development and the low churn-rate that it supported.
Leveraging digital effectively throughout an entire organisation, or even starting with just one department has far reaching effects. From increased employee engagement and efficiency through to improved customer journeys and loyalty, digital now touches every part of every business.
With 10 years of agency management experience, I have recently shifted East’s focus from service-led digital marketing services to knowledge-based digital consultancy. Working to integrate digital throughout businesses, I’m using the experience gained through the agency and our client's success to help transform organisations.
